fen\u00f3meno nuevo. La preocupaci\u00f3n se debe en gran medida a las nuevas pautas y est\u00e1ndares establecidos por IEEE Std 1584-2018 (Instituto de ingenieros el\u00e9ctricos y electr\u00f3nicos), NFPA (Asociaci\u00f3n nacional de protecci\u00f3n contra incendios) y NEC (C\u00f3digo el\u00e9ctrico nacional). Las fallas de arco ocurren cuando la corriente pasa a trav\u00e9s del vapor entre dos materiales conductores. Estos arcos de alta temperatura pueden causar quemaduras fatales incluso cuando se est\u00e1 parado a varios pies del arco. Los arcos el\u00e9ctricos tambi\u00e9n arrojan gotas de material fundido en el \u00e1rea circundante, lo que genera un peligro adicional.
